Programme Overview

The Banking Graduate Trainee Programme is a talent development programme launched by Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) to nurture young talents and expand the talent pool for the 3 key areas - Fintech, Green Finance & Sustainability and GBA development in order to support the sustainable development in the banking industry.

This programme is suitable for Hong Kong residents (i.e. not restricted to Hong Kong permanent residents) graduating with a bachelor’s degree or above from universities in or outside Hong Kong in 2021 or 2022. The programme will be from 1 September 2022 to 31 August 2023. End of Programme review will be conducted for further employment consideration base on business needs and performance of the graduates.

What you'll do

We are seeking high-calibre individuals for the following business functions. Please indicate your preference when applying to us.

- Fintech – Digital Banking

· Assist in project development on digital banking / FinTech related initiatives

· Participate in end-to-end process of project development lifecycle including preparation of user requirements and project plan, collaboration with internal and external partners for UAT, training and any internal or regulatory process

· Support the implementation on cross-channels (digital, branches and call centre) servicing and commercialization strategy for digital adoption, commercialization and attain the cost efficiency

· Provide support on in-depth research and gather market intelligence

· Handle ad hoc projects and assignments as required

- GBA (Greater Bay Area) Development

· Understand the Bank’s client proposition and product/service offerings across our retail, commercial and global banking businesses in GBA

· Provide support on client engagement and marketing events as well as GBA related projects

· Collaborate with Hong Kong SAR and China's Mainland teams to implement GBA related strategies and initiatives

· Conduct in-depth business research and analysis to explore opportunities for GBA business

· Ensure compliance with local regulatory mandates and internal policy/standards

- Green Finance & Sustainability

· Work on the development and implementation of client strategies for Sustainable Finance products

· Work closely with group corporate affairs to build a regional internal / external stake strategy promoting sustainability. Ensuring a consistent messaging to the internally and to the wider market

· Work with relationship teams and have a good understanding of the client base

· Proactively keep abreast of regional global, and industry developments

· Support benchmarking analysis for corporates

- Students graduating with background in Business / Information Technology / Sustainability or related disciplines.

- Candidates must have the legal right to work in Hong Kong.

- The Bank does not sponsor work permits for the purposes of programmes.
